CityLink Ireland is a private operator of public transport in the Republic of Ireland. It operates long distance bus services between Dublin and Galway, between Galway and Clifden, and between Galway and Cork (via Limerick).
Originally set up by businessman Jim Burke in 1994,[1] the company is currently owned by ComfortDelGro, a Singapore based transport company.
In 2010 CityLink outsourced the running of its bus services to Callinan Coaches whilst remaining in control of sales and marketing of its routes.[2]
In April 2010 CityLink were prosecuted for operating an unlicensed bus service between Dublin and Galway when, in addition to their licensed stopping bus service, they introduced a non-stop service between the two cities. While the District Court judge hearing the case found that the case against the company had been proven to the required degree, she decided to give them the benefit of the Probation Act.[3]
